"Someday" is a 2003 single by Canadian rock band Nickelback, the maiden one from their 2003 album The Long Road. It reached #1 in Canada for 3 weeks and #7 in the United States. It also charted in the Top 10 of the UK singles chart, where it poorly at #6.
The call has been criticized by many for sounding similar to the band's #1 hit, "How You Remind Me", having the same structure and style, although a musicologist has investigated the two songs and plant out they possess a different melody.

The lyrics chronicle a failed relationship; the singer talks about how a relationship failed and he wonders "how the hell'd we wrap up like this". He wishes that they could discuss their issues instead of break up.

 Nickelback - Someday lyrics
How the hell did we lift up like this
  Why weren't we able
To see the signs that we missed
And try to go the tables
I wish you'd unclench your fists
  And unpack your suitcase
Lately there's been too much of this
  Dont believe its too late
  Nothin's wrong
  just as farsighted as
you love that someday I will
  Someday, somehow
gonna get it allgood but not right now
  I recognise you're wondering when
(You're the just one who knows that)
  Someday, somehow
gonna get it allgood but not right now
  I recognise you're wondering when
Well i hoped that since we're here anyway
  We could end up saying
Things we've always required to say
So we could end up stringing
Now the story's played out like this
  Just like a paperback novel
Lets rewrite an end that fits
  Instead of a hollywood horror
  Nothin's wrong
  just as farsighted as
you love that someday I will
  Someday, somehow
gonna get it allgood but not right now
  I recognise you're wondering when
(You're the just one who knows that)
  Someday, somehow
gonna get it allgood but not right now
  I recognise you're wondering when
(You're the just one who knows that)
  [Solo]
